【摘要】:Thismethodisfordeterminingthelossonignition(LOI)inair,usingaspecifiedignitiontemperatureandtime,forfresh,regenerated,used,andspentcatalysts,catalystsupports,andmolecularsievesofvariousshapesandsizes,includingfines.Thismethodisquantitativedownto0.1mass-%.Themethodisnotwaterspecific;anycomponentsthatvolatilizeattheselectedignitiontemperature,forexample,carbon,chlorine,andfluorine,arealsoincludedintheLOIvalue.Somecomponents,forexamplesulfates,mayvolatilizefullyorpartiallydependingonignitiontimeandtemperature.Massgainsarepossiblewithcatalyststhatcontainreducedmetals.ThecriteriaforselectingthetemperaturefortheLOIarebasedonthevolatilityofcomponentsofmaterials.ExamplesarelistedinPROCEDURE,Table1.LengthoftimeattemperatureisdependentontheapplicationoftheLOIvalues.Forexample,itisimportanttodriveoffdefinedvolatilesforthedeterminationofplatinumconcentration.
