【摘要】:ThispartofEN351establishesclassificationforpreservative-treatedwoodintermsofpreservativepenetrationandgivesguidanceonaclassificationofretention.Theseshouldbeusedasabasisforspecifyingpreservativetreatmentsforparticularproducts.ThispartofEN351providesterminologytobeusedbythespecifierwhenpreparingapreservativetreatmentspecificationorproductstandard.Itisnotatreatmentspecificationinitself.ThispartofEN351isapplicabletotheproductionofpreservative-treatedsolidwood,includinggluedlaminatedtimber,suitableforuseinthoseserviceconditionsdefinedbytheuseclassesinEN335-1.Itdoesnotapplytoanysubsequentexaminationoftreatedwoodinservice.ThispartofEN351isapplicabletotheprotectionofwoodagainstattackbywood-destroyingandwooddisfiguringfungi,insectsandmarineorganisms.ThispartofEN351doesnotconsiderotherpropertiesoftreatedwood,forexampleodour,corrosivenessandcompatibilitywithothermaterials,nordoesitconsideranypropertiesfromthehealth,safetyandenvironmentalpointofview.ThispartofEN351doesnotapplytowoodtreatedwithformulationsthatareappliedtotimberinservicetoeliminateorcontrolanexistingfungalorinsectinfestation,ortopreventattackbysapstainfungi,orinsectsingreentimber.

【摘要】:1.1Thisguidedescribesproceduresforobtaininglaboratorydataconcerningtheacutetoxicityofchemicalsandaqueouseffluentsreleasedintofresh,estuarine,ormarinewaters.AcutetoxicityismeasuredbyexposingBrachionusnewlyhatchedfromcyststoaseriesoftoxicantconcentrationsundercontrolledconditions.ThisguidedescribesatestforusingB.calyciflorus,afreshwaterrotifer,andtheAppendixdescribesmodificationsofthistestforestuarineandmarinewatersusingB.plicatilis.Theseproceduresleadtoanestimationofacutetoxicity,includingtheconcentrationexpectedtokill50%ofthetestrotifers(LC50)in24h.ProceduresnotspecificallystatedinthisguideshouldbeconductedinaccordancewithGuideE729andGuideE1192.1.2Modificationsoftheseproceduresmightbejustifiedbyspecialneedsorcircumstances.Althoughusingappropriateproceduresismoreimportantthanfollowingprescribedprocedures,theresultsoftestsconductedusingmodifiedproceduresmightnotbecomparabletorotiferacuteteststhatfollowtheprotocoldescribedhere.Comparisonoftheresultsusingmodifiedproceduresmightprovideusefulinformationconcerningnewconceptsandproceduresforconductingacutetoxicitytestsonchemicalsandaqueouseffluents.1.3Thisguideisorganizedasfollows:1.4Theseproceduresareapplicabletomostchemicals,eitherindividuallyorinformulations,commercialproducts,ormixtures.ThisguidecanalsobeusedtoconductinvestigationsoftheeffectsonrotifersurvivalofpH,hardness,andsalinityandonmaterialssuchasaqueouseffluents,leachates,oils,particulatematter,sediments,andsurfacewaters.Thisguidemightnotbeappropriateformaterialswithhighoxygendemand,withhighvolatility,subjecttorapidbiologicalorchemicaltransformation,orthatreadilysorbtotestchambers.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardsstatements,seeSection.

【摘要】:Linearshrinkage,asusedinthistestmethod,referstothechangeinlineardimensionsthathasoccurredintestspecimensaftertheyhavebeensubjectedtosoakingheatforaperiodof24handthencooledtoroomtemperature.Mostinsulatingmaterialswillbegintoshrinkatsomedefinitetemperature.Usuallytheamountofshrinkageincreasesasthetemperatureofexposurebecomeshigher.Eventuallyatemperaturewillbereachedatwhichtheshrinkagebecomesexcessive.Withexcessiveshrinkage,theinsulatingmaterialhasdefinitelyexceededitsusefultemperaturelimit.Whenaninsulatingmaterialisappliedtoahotsurface,theshrinkagewillbegreatestonthehotface.Thedifferentialshrinkagewhichresultsbetweenthehotterandthecoolersurfacesoftenintroducesstrainsandmaycausetheinsulationtowarp.Highshrinkagemaycauseexcessivewarpageandtherebymayinducecracking,bothofwhichareundesirable.Highshrinkagemayalsoopengapsattheinsulationjointstoanexcessiveextentrenderingtheapplicationlessefficientandmorehazardous.Inordertopredictthelimitofpermissibleshrinkageinservice,thedegreeoflinearshrinkagetobetoleratedbyspecimensofaninsulatingmaterialwhensubjectedtosoakingheatmustbedeterminedfromexperience.Itisrecognizedthatafixedrelationbetweenlinearshrinkageundersoakingheatandactualshrinkageinservicecannotbeestablishedfordifferenttypesofinsulatingmaterials.Generallytheamountofshrinkageincreaseswithtimeofexposure.Theamountandrateofincreasevariesfromonematerialtoanother.Inaddition,thevarioustypesofmaterialsmayhavedifferentamountsofmaximumpermissibleshrinkage.Therefore,eachproductmustdefineitsownspecificlimitsoflinearshrinkageundersoakingheat.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheamountoflinearshrinkageandotherchangesthatoccurwhenapreformedthermalinsulatingmaterialisexposedtosoakingheat.Thistestmethodislimitedtopreformedhigh-temperatureinsulationthatisapplicabletohot-sidetemperaturesinexcessof200x00B0;F(93x00B0;C),withtheexceptionofinsulatingfirebrickwhichiscoveredbyTestMethodC210.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
